FONG CHAN ONN

DATUK SERI DR FONG CHAN ONN

served as the Minister of Human Resources of Malaysia from December 1999 to March 2008. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Minister of Education from October 1990 till December 1999. He is also the deputy chairman of University Tunku Abdul Rahman’s Council.

Dr Fong is a senior member of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) – the second largest party in the ruling “Barisan Nasional” coalition in Malaysia. He served as the head of the Party’s Economic Bureau until October 2008 during which he led the Party’s team in presenting its views, proposals and recommendations to various national economic programmes, including the first, second and third National Economic Consultative Council, the various national development plans and the yearly National Budget.

Dr Fong has also written several books and published numerous articles in international journals or chapters in books. He holds a PhD in Operations Research/Industrial Economics and Masters in Business Administration from University of Rochester, New York and a First Class bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.

TAN SRI ADMAD FUZI HAJI ABDUL RAZAK

is currently Ambassador at Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia. Tan Sri is Malaysia’s representative to the ASEAN High Level Task Force on drafting the ASEAN Charter. He is also a distinguished Fellow at the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS), a Board Member of the Trustee of World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Foundation. Tan Sri also sits on UMNO (United Malay National Organization) Supreme Council as a Member of the International Affairs Bureau.

Prior to his current position, Tan Sri Ahmad Fuzi served in various capabilities largely in the Foreign Affairs Ministry. He was serving at the Malaysian missions abroad in Moscow, the Hague, Canberra, Washington and Dhaka and later on as Secretary General for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As the Secretary General, he played a prominent role in organizing the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in 2003.

TAN SRI RAMON NAVARATNAM

is the Former President of Transparency International Malaysia since March 2006 and current the Chairman for the Center of Public Policy Studies of the Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute (ASLI) (2006). Y. Bhg Tan Sri is also the Corporate Advisor of the Sunway Group, Deputy Chairman of Sunway College, Director of Monash University Malaysia, Director of ASLI (Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute). He was also the Vice President of the Malaysian Association of Private Colleges (MAPCO), Vice President of the Malaysian Economic Association and the Vice President of the Harvard Club.

Tan Sri was educated at the Victoria Institution, Kuala Lumpur and at the University of Malaya in Singapore where he obtained B.A.(Hons) in Econs. He obtained his Dip. In Public Administration from the Royal Institute of Public Administration in London in 1963 and then his M.P.A. (Econs) from Harvard (USA) in 1969. He obtained an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Oxford Brookes University (UK) in 2000.

Nicholas Brooke

NICHOLAS BROOKE, BBS, JP, FRICS, FHKIS

is the Chairman of the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation and also of the Professional Property Services Limited which is a specialist real-estate consultancy, based in Hong Kong.

He is a Past President of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and a Former Member of the Hong Kong Housing Authority and the Hong Kong Town Planning Board. He is the Current Chairman of the Hong Kong Coalition of Service Industries and is a Member of The Hong Kong Harbour Front Enhancement Committee.

Mr. Brooke holds the Non-Executive Director on the Board of MAF Properties (one of Middle-East’s leading Shopping Centre Developer), of VinaLand Vietnam Real-Estate Fund (the first Vietnam Property Fund to be listed on London Stock Exchange), of Shanghai Forte Land (one of the largest residential developer in Mainland China) and of China Central Properties Ltd. (listed on London AIM Board).

Dr. Victor Wee

DATUK DR. VICTOR WEE

is currently the Chairman of the Programme Committee of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO). He also assumes the role as Advisor to the Ministry of Finance of Malaysia. He previously served as Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism.

Dr. Wee obtained his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Malaya, Master of Arts from Brown University, U.S.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Bristol University, United Kingdom. Dr. Wee had also participated in training at the East West Center in Hawaii, Institute of Manpower Studies at the University of Sussex, and Harvard University. He was also the Senior Director of Macroeconomics of the Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Department, where he was instrumental in formulating Malaysia‘s macroeconomic policy framework.

As a member of the World Bank, he helped review the planning and implementation methodology of Saudi Arabia in 2003 and assisted in a UNDP mission on the formulation of Saudi Arabia ‘s long-term economic strategy in 2004. During the Asian Financial crisis, he served as the Deputy Head of the National Economic Action Council (NEAC) Secretariat, where he was involved in the drafting of the National Economic Recovery Plan, which was used as the blueprint for Malaysia‘s efforts to bring about recovery from the crisis.

is the Director of Kanji Quality Culture Ltd., is also Emeritus Professor of applied statistics at Sheffield Hallam University. He is the Vice Chair of the International Chapter of the ASQ for Europe and the Middle East.

As a renowned teacher and consultant, his lectures have inspired audiences and individuals around the world and as Chairman of the EMPTQM group he has helped to develop a European Masters programme in Total quality management. Professor Kanji has organised and chaired 10 World Congresses for Total quality Management, in the UK, Russia and Italy, U.A.E & Canada and has been appointed by the European Commission to act as a technical expert for the development of the European Customer Satisfaction Index.  

He has been appointed President of the European Society for Organisational Excellence (ESOE), Vice-President of the International Foundation for Customer Focus and visiting professor at Leicester University. He is also Vice-President of IAQ. In 2002 the ASQ awarded professor Kanji the prestigious Grant Medal for his contribution to Quality.

TAN SRI IZZUDDIN DALI

has vast experience in finance, government budget, international economics and government projects. He has served more than 30 years with various departments in the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Public Works. Some of his previous posts include the Director of Department of Budget with the Ministry of Finance, General Manager/Company Secretary of Kuala Lumpur International Airport Berhad and the Secretary General with the Ministry of Public Works.

He is the former Secretary General of Treasury to the Ministry of Finance. Tan Sri is also a Director of International Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), subsidiary of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) based in Jeddah.

Tan Sri Izzuddin Dali has a post-graduate degree with a Master of Arts Economics) from the University of Western Michigan and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Malaya.
